1. Who should take an online course?

Online learning is for anyone interested in personal professional development. You must be self-disciplined, have some computer literacy, and be motivated to work independently. You also need e-mail access and Internet capabilities.

2. Why should I enroll in an online course?

Online courses offer a convenient way to enhance professional development, enrich personal learning, and renew teacher certification—at your own pace, from your own home.

3. What type of Internet connection do I need to take a course?

We recommend a broadband (high-speed) Internet connection.

4. What type of academic credit do I receive for completing a course?

Letter grades are not assigned. Instead, we award contact (clock) hours. The number of contact hours varies by course and is listed on each course description.

5. Is there a difference between contact hours and continuing education units (CEUs)?

They are not synonymous. Many accrediting agencies consider 1 CEU equivalent to 10–15 contact hours. Please consult your accrediting agency for their specific equivalency.

6. Are your courses approved by an accrediting agency?

All courses are approved by the American Association of Christian Schools and the Tennessee Association of Christian Schools.

Since Training Teachers Online launched in 2006, approvals continue to grow as our services become known to state and national accrediting agencies. Please contact your school’s accrediting agency to confirm acceptance of our courses.

7. How do I prove that I have completed a course?

Some agencies may require evidence of completion. Your Certificate of Completion often suffices, but you may be asked for additional documentation. Keep copies of your assessment activities, course journal entries, summary reflections, and discussion board responses—consider compiling a small portfolio.

8. How do I receive my Certificate of Completion?

After completing all course requirements, e-mail Training Teachers Online to indicate completion. We will mail your Certificate of Completion, which includes the course name and contact hours awarded.

Course requirements include reading assignments, evaluation activities, journal entries, and an end-of-course survey.

9. Is there a designated time when courses meet during the day?

You can access your course anytime—morning, noon, or night.

10. How long will it take me to complete a course?

Duration depends on your pace. As a guideline, a 15-contact-hour course takes the average student about 15 hours to complete.

11. Are your courses interactive?

Yes. You’ll complete evaluation activities, journal entries, and discussion board responses. Many courses offer video/audio links to enhance interactivity. You can also view others’ discussion posts and reply—great for deepening understanding of key topics.

12. What information is contained in an individual course lesson?

Each course includes 5–10 lessons (typically 7–8). Lessons may contain a text narrative, assessment activities, journal prompts, readings at selected resource sites, and discussion questions. You may also be asked to write summary reflections.

13. Where do I take an online course?

Anywhere you have Internet access once you’re enrolled.

14. How long do I have to complete a course?

You have six months to complete each course. After that period, you must re-enroll.

15. How many courses can I take at one time?

There is no maximum—take as many as you wish at once.

16. When can I begin a course?

After submitting your registration and receiving e-mail verification, you may begin immediately.

17. How do I enroll in a course?

Use the Enrollment link on the home page to complete the registration form. After submission, you’ll receive an e-mail confirmation with your Username and Password—keep them to log in to your course.

18. What does it cost to take a course?

Pricing depends on the number of contact hours. Refer to the Course Listing for contact hours and prices.

19. How do I pay for my course?

Payment is made by credit card (VISA, Mastercard, Discover, or American Express) at registration.

20. Is there a penalty for withdrawing after I have registered?

Yes. There is a $15 withdrawal fee if you withdraw within five days of registration. After five days, no refunds are available.

21. What should I do if I cannot access my course?

22. What should I do if I lose my Username or Password?

E-mail questions@trainingteachersonline.com with your first and last name and any identifying information (address, phone). We’ll reset your password.

23. What should I do if I register for the wrong course?

E-mail questions@trainingteachersonline.com with the course you intended. You can also call 888-200-6414, ext. 1005 (weekdays 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. EST).

24. How do I save my answers to the lesson activities?

For evaluation and discussion activities, click the "Save My Answers" button at the bottom of the left menu. For journal entries, click the "Save" button below the entry box.

To verify your answers have been saved, use the left-menu items labeled Journal, Evaluation Register, and Discussion Board.

25. Will I be charged to reissue a Certificate of Completion?

Yes. Reissuing a Certificate of Completion costs $10 per certificate to cover processing and shipping.
